Sometimes an injury can creep up on you, other times it comes in a sudden burst as a move goes terribly wrong. No matter how an injury is received it must be treated carefully and respectfully if you plan on getting rid of it in a timely matter, If you rush the process or over do it you will be stuck with a chronic injury. New Injuries that slowly get worse can often be compensated for with some side therapy. The Injury doesn’t mean you have to stop training completely, it just means you have to adapt. This is true in most cases unless your injury is very severe in which case you will need to cease training immediately in order to allow the damages to heal. The key is resting just enough to let the injury heal but not enough to let your muscles atrophy.
Remember, if you break a bone it will grow back stronger than ever but if you break a tendon or joint it will be much weaker from then on, this is where some serious physical therapy comes into play; the method for therapy varies from injury to injury so be sure to find one what works for you! A few minutes of hard training on a slightly injured tendon can push the tendon to a point beyond repair; I am not trying to scare you, I am simply trying to warn you of what reckless behavior may bring down on you.
