Now I was going to start this post off with a quote on the subject of expression but that seemed a little too cliche of me so I decided just to come out by stating the purpose of this post. I often ponder the idea of expression and individualism and I would like to share some of my thoughts on the subject with you and your beautiful face reading this message behind your little electric screen!
Now I am going to keep this short and sweet, hopefully it sparks a few ideas in your mind. You can draw inspiration from everything (even meeger articles like this) after all. I feel like we can all find solace in self expression. There are even some people who can find solace in the lack of said expression; that last statement may sound a little odd but it should make sense soon enough. If we look carefully we can divide the world into two simple groups: Those who follow the crowd and those who do not. There is of course a little bit of overlap in this statement but that is beside the point. What I am trying to get at, there are people out there who hide in the shadow of others, simply trying to fit in (this is how they find their little piece of peace) they silence their individual expression as a method of keeping themselves safe and out of the spotlight. On the other hand we have those who deliberately defy the crowd in an effort to stand out and express themselves as individuals. These are two very contrasted methods of coping but they should both be given credit for what they are and what they do. I fall into the latter of these two categories so keep in mind that I am a bit biased Now there is nothing wrong with either of these categories, I think we should all respect each other especially when it comes to how we each find peace of mind. What I would like you to think about is this: Is it really possible to be and individual in a world full of so many people and variations? And is it really that bad to be like those around you? Why do we insist on individuality? Why do we find peace of mind in it? So many questions to ponder… Well that’s all for now! Like I said, short and sweet. Expect more posts of this length at a rapid rate with throughout 2015.

You know what I think is really sad? I think it’s sad how strung out the word happiness has become over the years. It used to be such a free independent description of all things which by their own right blow our hair back. But as of recent, “They” have taken hold of the word, “They” are determined to use the very concept of happiness to better themselves. “They” are very greedy. Who are “They?”, well in all honesty I am fine with you assigning anyone to be a placeholder for the word “They”. “They” use happiness as a sort of bait for luring us into fruitless advents, “They” make promises of happiness if we simply work a little bit harder or take on just one more late night shift away from our families. It’s sick really. I am here to give a faint cry as to what happiness really is. To whomever is reading this: happiness is not something that can be given, it can only be taken in. We can do everything in our power to try to make someone else happy, but it is only once they accept the gesture that the happiness actually becomes tangible.
Happiness is a bastardized term; As mentioned before, it has become strung out nearly beyond recognition. “They” will keep kicking this dead horse of a word until it quits spittin’ out money for them. What we have to recognize is that happiness is all around us; it is just waiting for us to grab it. Now I could give you a few examples of these simple pleasures which are seemingly abundant, but to be curt: only you can truly uncover them; Not to mention I would sound cheesy as can be if I started listing off simple pleasures (besides I am sure you have heard of them before). Find your own little piece of pleasure and hold onto it, offer to share it but if the offer isn’t taken, that’s fine: just make sure that nobody takes your little pleasure away from you. And in the unfortunate event that your little piece of pleasure is taken away from you… the only option left is to go pick up another piece. Please note that these pieces come in all shapes and sizes. I for one am using this blog post as my little piece of happiness for right now. I am truly enjoying expressing my thoughts while simultaneously breaking the fourth wall with this little self dialog. Happiness is a nine letter word. These few letters have the astounding ability to blanket over everything in this grand universe! How is this possible? Well it’s really quite simple. I’m sure that by now you have heard the saying that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This can be rephrased to state that what one man despises, another will love. With a bit of lateral thinking you will be able to conclude what I am trying to get at with this poorly explained metaphor is that Happiness can be found in anything as long as we take on the right perspective. I would like to end this post now before I run out of clever little ideas and metaphors! Besides, I have always been one to believe in quality over quantity. Farewell for now! Black winds beckons forth from the cryptic source of all omens
Motivation is stirring from fear of the threat brought into focus by the dreadful gust It has been too long since the engine of life roared onwards Guilt, doubt, and languor no longer bind him to stagnation The possibility of a new life flavor has fallen into his pathway But the heartbeat of opportunity will soon cease if he does not grasp it He takes hold through a guise of fervent vigor which is already laced with dubiety The fiducial leap into the arms of motivation has commenced Now reliance plays the role of glue keeping this vessel afloat He senses potential bursting through the tightly knit threads of routine “Destroy and rebuild” has never felt so right as he consummates his marriage to change The black wind diminishes only to reveal a horizon of sui generis creations It is then that expression floods his toolset, his art is limitless, it is for one and all Never before has he felt so free -Dameon According to chaos theory, the universe is constantly moving to a state of disorder or entropy. It is constantly branching out and becoming more and more complex. Each decision you make will have an impact on the rest of your life; Regardless of how minuscule these actions may seem at the time. This can be best illustrated by the butterfly effect which states that small changes now can have a large impact later. The classic metaphor is based around how a hurricane can be effected by a butterfly flapping it’s wings several weeks earlier. |
