Today is my birthday and I feel so blessed to be living the life I am; Everything is perfect and I am moving quickly in the direction which I want to travel. Sure there are things which I would like to change but everything happens for a reason and there is always a lesson to be learned in any situation big or small. This is why I take time to be grateful for all that I have. Taking time to be grateful will brighten your life up even if you are not physically changing anything. Telling yourself that you are grateful for the things you have will tell your brain that those things are valuable assets that should not be taken lightly. From then on you will view everything with a fresh perspective pumped full of awe and wonder. Today I would like to enlighten you to the beauty of gratitude and what it can do for your everyday life.
Similar to writing out your goals, writing out what you are grateful for will have a profound effect on the way you view the world. I recommend taking a single sheet of fresh crisp paper and labeling it “Gratitude” after that take a few minutes everyday to write out what you are grateful for, it doesn't matter how small the things are, just write them out. The things you are grateful for will pile up on that paper over time and you will see just how lucky you are. One of the greatest skills of the human mind is to manipulate the way it feels. Remember that nothing is good or bad until you assign that emotion to it, so before you curse at a situation which you perceive as bad take a second to be grateful for it and look for the opportunity in it. When one door closes, another opens; It’s all a balance and there is always something to be grateful for.
A while back I was out on a night mission and I was resting atop a tall building; I was laying on my back of the roof which was frosted with morning dew. I spent the time just staring out at the stars and contemplating how vast it all is and how lucky I am to be able to call myself part of it. It was truly a memorable experience that will stick with me for a long time. Your life is privilege so be glad that you have control over it. At times it may seem that things are totally out of your grasp but know that you control how you think and your thoughts are what truly shape your life. Thoughts shaping your life may seem like an odd idea but I encourage you to stay open minded to it. If you get the chance I would recommend the book: “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen as it will enlighten you further to the power of your mindset and how it can shape your universe.
Your life is largely a result of your choices so if you are not happy with your life you oughta start making some better choices. Those choices can be as simple as deciding to take ten minutes a day to be grateful for all that you have. This idea of gratitude is actually much more powerful than you may think, it has the power to ignite a change in your life which will infectiously spread throughout your universe, this change I am talking about is an enlightening in consciousness which will bring you eternal happiness and peace. Starting with gratitude is not the only route to this ever coveted enlightenment but it is surely a part of the process regardless of where you start.
The point of this article was to open your eyes up to the idea that simple things like being grateful can do a lot for your overall happiness and prosperity. I have only just scratched the surfaces on so many of these ideas so I encourage you to do your own research and dig deeper into anything that interests you. Best of luck my friends!
