Through my training I have developed a few methods for healing quickly after a tough session. Today I would like to expose what I have learned from experience with you. Contrast Shower Contrast showers are similar to ice baths in that they both require rapid exposure to cold. Contrast showers are a form a hydrotherapy that will recover your muscles as well as your mind. The procedure for a shower like this is really quite simple: step into the shower and amp the water temp down to ice cold, let your muscles soak in this chilly water for a minute or so, then shift to scorching hot water for yet another minute. Alternate between these two temperatures for fifteen minutes before getting out and feeling great. Roll Out Massaging muscles with a foam or PVC roller is a dandy idea for loosening up those sore spots right before a big jam or training day. Epsom Salt Epsom salt is to be used for healing bruised and battered muscles, it can often be found in an alcohol rub form that makes the application process much easier. Yoga Yoga is a fantastic hobby that every Traceur should try; It's lack of impact movement makes it the ideal activity to gain flexibility while also recovering your muscles. Mindset Having the right mindset is key to recovering quickly even if its only the placebo effect at work. Imagine yourself at the peak of health with a limber, healthy body. A mindset like this will get you back to training in no time. Dit Da Jow Dita Da Jow is a Chinese herb which is though to heal damaged and seriously injured muscles, use it after a bad bail or rough session to get those muscles back on the road to healthfulness. Walking Walking with nature is a fool proof method to rejuvenate your mind. As you walk be sure to clear your mind, doing so will allow the healing to occur. Breathing Deep Breathing is an often neglected part of training, it is essential for a healthful life free of illness. Look up deep breathing practices for more info. Workout Change Changing up your workout routine can put new stresses onto your muscles. These new stresses will make for unique growth that will result in an overall less sore you.
