Now I was going to start this post off with a quote on the subject of expression but that seemed a little too cliche of me so I decided just to come out by stating the purpose of this post. I often ponder the idea of expression and individualism and I would like to share some of my thoughts on the subject with you and your beautiful face reading this message behind your little electric screen!
Now I am going to keep this short and sweet, hopefully it sparks a few ideas in your mind. You can draw inspiration from everything (even meeger articles like this) after all.
I feel like we can all find solace in self expression. There are even some people who can find solace in the lack of said expression; that last statement may sound a little odd but it should make sense soon enough.
If we look carefully we can divide the world into two simple groups: Those who follow the crowd and those who do not. There is of course a little bit of overlap in this statement but that is beside the point. What I am trying to get at, there are people out there who hide in the shadow of others, simply trying to fit in (this is how they find their little piece of peace) they silence their individual expression as a method of keeping themselves safe and out of the spotlight. On the other hand we have those who deliberately defy the crowd in an effort to stand out and express themselves as individuals. These are two very contrasted methods of coping but they should both be given credit for what they are and what they do. I fall into the latter of these two categories so keep in mind that I am a bit biased
Now there is nothing wrong with either of these categories, I think we should all respect each other especially when it comes to how we each find peace of mind. What I would like you to think about is this: Is it really possible to be and individual in a world full of so many people and variations? And is it really that bad to be like those around you? Why do we insist on individuality? Why do we find peace of mind in it? So many questions to ponder… Well that’s all for now! Like I said, short and sweet.
