Creativity is not something that can be taught due to the fact that it is already inherent in every human on earth. In other words: you don’t have to look for it, it’s already there just waiting to be taken advantage of. Today I will teach you how to tap into this deep creative force. There are many guides out there on how to do this so I will make this one a little bit different by writing from the heart in contrast to copying what’s already out there.
Creativity is an entity that is evident in a variety of people from many different walks of life, particularly in children. Occasionally you will notice a child performing odd activities that bring forth the question “Why?” when the child is commended for such activities, their confidence will grow and so will their drive to be creative. This makes sense but it is not always as good as it seems; You see, this type of creative blossoming creates a divergence between people who view themselves as “Creatives” and those who believe that they are “Analytics”. Unfortunately this day in age the ratio is way off, too many people believe they are not creative. These people can be easily spotted as they throw around lines such as: “I was never the creative type, I’m more of an analytical guy” It’s beliefs like these which lock away our creativity and leave it hidden deep in the recesses of our minds. But do not fear, all is not lost! This hidden creativity is like a fine wine; In accordance with the heuristic principle of alternation, as time passes it’s potential value goes up. This means that no matter how far you are into your adventure of life, you can and will benefit from reawakening your creativity!
But how does one go about reawakening this creativity? The answer is really quite simple, all you have to do is let go of your silly notions which have been formed by past experiences. These notions include everything that has to do with you being creative. For example: as a child you were told your art was trash and from that point on you have avoided the topic in all the planes of your life. I am now asking that you forget what others have thought of your art and take a fresh look at life as well as creativity. As mentioned earlier creativity is not an esoteric property reserved for the greats, we can all have it. But like other skills, it develops with use. Therefore the only way to get better is to start. So do me a favor and commit to living the rest of your life as an artist, you won’t regret it. You may be wondering what I mean when I say “Artist” nothing much really, artist is a term I throw around to describe anyone running through life with a creative mind, a mind that knows no bounds and is not afraid to dream. It’s people with minds like this who change the world. Believe it or not there is great power in calling yourself an artist; as you will come to learn mindset is key in this universe and it will dramatically affect how things turn out for you. I hate to leave you with an abstract answer like that but it’s the truth my friend. If you’re still not satisfied here is a practical task for you: Fetch a blank sheet of paper and spend twenty minutes writing down every hope and dream you can think of, use your creativity to branch off of these ideas and you will end up with a list of fresh new goals to start on.
